Celebrating International Day for Justices, the Account of Stakeholders in Justice Sector

Nigeria joined the globe on Thursday 17th July 2015 to mark the international day for justices, as stakeholders in the Justice sector bared their minds on what Justice should be.

The day observed on 17th of July every year is aimed at promoting good Justice, human rights and accountability for serious work crimes like genocide and crimes against humanity.

The day commemorates the adoption of the Roman statue which founded the international criminal courts, while the focus is to raise awareness on the importance of holiday those who violate human rights accountable for their crimes, promoting device of the victims and to promote Justice through education and events to faster culture of accountability and respective for human rights.

Barring their minds on the theme for this year celebration is a “Empowering inclusion, region gaps for social Justice”. The state director of public prosecution, Deaconess Uwaeme Chinedu Oluchi opined that there is Justice in the Nigerian system but with serious setbacks.

Deaconess Uwaeme further enumerated various achievements of the States governor Dr Alex Otti, in the Justice sector described him as justice friendly leader and commended him for the digitization of the Justice sector, funding and donation of security devices to the police and identified funding and other logistics as some of the challenges facing them.

Also speaking a Rev minister of the Methodist church Nigeria, The Very Reverend Vincent Isiocha explain that everybody has a role to play in instituting Justice in the society ranging from parents, teachers, religious leaders, village and traditional rulers as well as government at all levels and called on all to emulate God who does not discriminate in dispensing Justice.

Barring his mind, the state director NOA, comrade Victor Orji who defined justice as exercising fairness to all irrespective of status, religio inclination and opinion, observing that some geographical zones in the country have been short changed against the other code for its balancing and appealed to citizens to be patriotic and justice oriented.
      
It therefore urged stakeholders in the Justice sector to play their part in order to ensure justice in all spheres of life.
