A coalition of 700 youth leaders from across the 17 Local Government Areas of Abia State has declared its intention to purchase the 2027 governorship nomination form for Governor Dr. Alex Otti, calling on him to seek a second term in office.

The resolution was announced at the inaugural Abia Youth Leaders Townhall Meeting held at the JAAC Building in Umuahia, themed “Repositioning Abia Youths for a Sustainable New Abia Project.” The event served as a platform for engaging with policy influencers while highlighting the achievements of the Otti-led administration.

Panelists including Hon. Ubani Dannie, Mr. Chimereze Okoro, Hon. Victoria Onwubiko, and Engr. Chinedu Onyeizu urged Abia youths to remain actively involved in governance and entrepreneurial development, emphasizing the importance of supporting visionary leadership.

During the endorsement session, moderator Mazi Iroy Orji said the decision to buy the nomination form was a symbolic way of expressing gratitude for the Governor’s developmental efforts.

“The price for good work is more work,” Orji said. “Abia youths are united in their admiration of Governor Otti’s performance. For us, there is no vacancy in Government House in 2027.”

Representing Governor Otti at the event, the General Manager of ASEPA, Mazi Ogbonnaya Okereke, thanked the youth leaders for their solidarity and reiterated the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment.

“This government has clear plans for the youths,” Okereke said. “The New Abia vision is about equipping young people with the tools they need to succeed.”

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Sir Nwaobilor Nwadinma Ananaba, and the Special Assistant on Youth Development praised the youth coalition for its large turnout and unwavering support for Governor Otti’s reform-driven agenda.
