There are moments in life when things don’t go the way we planned, when our dreams are delayed, doors close unexpectedly, or we’re forced down unfamiliar paths. In such seasons, we may begin to question whether God is still in control. But today’s scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, reminds us that God’s plan is not only intact, it is always better. He sees what we cannot, and He orchestrates life with perfect wisdom, compassion, and purpose.

Sometimes we make plans that look good to us in the moment, but in hindsight, we realize how limited our vision was. We may want success quickly, but God is more interested in our character than our convenience. He may delay certain things, not to punish us, but to protect us. His plan often includes detours to develop the strength, humility, and faith we’ll need for what lies ahead.

The children of Israel were in exile when God gave them this promise through the prophet Jeremiah. They felt abandoned and unsure of the future. Yet, God told them He was still with them and had not forgotten His covenant. In the same way, we must understand that even when life feels uncertain or unfair, we are never out of God’s sight. His plan is not cancelled, it’s just unfolding.

One of the reasons we struggle to trust God’s plan is because we want immediate answers. But God often works through process. Think of Joseph in the Bible, betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, imprisoned unjustly, yet all of it was part of a greater purpose: to save a nation from famine. What looked like a setback was actually a setup for glory.

Another reason we resist God’s plan is fear. Fear that we’ll miss out. Fear that things won’t turn out right. But faith means believing that God’s plan is not just good, it’s the best. His plans include peace, provision, and purpose. Even the painful seasons are not wasted in His hands; they are woven into a beautiful tapestry of grace and glory.

So what should we do when God’s plan doesn’t match ours? Trust Him anyway. Submit our desires to His will. Pray for clarity, but walk in faith even when we don’t have all the answers. Obedience may not always feel easy, but it always leads to blessing. When we align with God’s plan, we step into His protection, favor, and destiny.

Today, rest in this truth: God’s plan for your life is better than your best imagination. He is not done with you. He knows where you are, where you’ve been, and where He’s taking you. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep believing, because His plan is working for your good and His glory.
