The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has cautioned prospective corps members for the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 against embarking on late-night journeys to orientation camps across the country.

This warning was issued by the NYSC Public Relations Officer in Bauchi State, Jacob Unogwu, during a media interaction on Tuesday. Unogwu emphasized the scheme’s consistent stance against nighttime travel, citing safety and security concerns.

He disclosed that registration for the 1,700 corps members deployed to Bauchi will begin on July 30 and conclude by midnight on July 31 at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Wailo, located in Ganjuwa Local Government Area.

According to him, the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for August 1, while the orientation program will run until August 19. He noted that only candidates who are thoroughly screened and confirmed to be authentic graduates will be allowed entry into the camp.

“As part of our security protocol, every corps member will undergo a discreet screening to prevent impersonation or infiltration,” Unogwu stated.

He further urged prospective corps members to adhere strictly to the announced registration dates, comply with camp rules, and maintain the prescribed dress code. He warned that any violations would attract disciplinary measures in line with NYSC regulations.

Unogwu also encouraged corps members to be punctual, responsible, and cooperative throughout the orientation exercise.
