The Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah (LINTO), has called on Abians living abroad to back Governor Alex Otti’s re-election campaign for a second term in 2027.

Eze Mbah made the appeal on Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia, during a reception held in his honor by the Old Bende Progressive Union, Atlanta Chapter. He recalled that the union recently met in Aba, visited Governor Otti at his country home, and endorsed his second term bid. He encouraged the Atlanta chapter and other Abians in the diaspora to follow suit.

“If you have not visited Abia in a long time, come back and witness the infrastructural developments led by Governor Alex Otti OFR, CHIOMA NDỊ ABIA. His achievements in just two years are unprecedented. Aba and Umuahia no longer have potholes, and developmental projects have reached rural areas,” Eze Mbah stated.

He urged Abians to support Governor Otti to complete his eight-year tenure, emphasizing that the state is undergoing a transformation. “Governor Otti is building a new Abia. He needs your support and prayers wherever you are,” he added.

Highlighting the Governor’s accomplishments, Eze Mbah mentioned the ongoing construction of Abia Airport, the Abia Medical City in Owerrita, retrofitting of 200 Primary Health Centres, renovation of schools, compulsory basic education, and recruitment of over 9,000 new teachers. He also noted the completion and progress of several road projects, including Port Harcourt Road Aba, Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Akara-Alayi-Abiriba Road, Abiriba-Ohafia Road, Ohafia-Arochukwu Road, Abam-Ndiokereke-Arochukwu Road, and the nearly completed Omenuko Bridge.

The traditional ruler, who is also the Eze Udo of Atai Igboukwu Kingdom in Umuzomgbo-Ihechiowa, Arochukwu LGA, emphasized that these developments have been achieved without any borrowing. He also highlighted the restoration of dignity for traditional rulers under Governor Otti’s administration, with Abia traditional rulers now receiving the highest stipends in the South East.

Thanking the Old Bende Progressive Union in Atlanta for hosting him, Eze Mbah invited Abians in the diaspora to visit Abia, witness the progress firsthand, and consider investing in the state.

Chief Emmanuel Ananaba, President of Abia State Indigenes in the USA, Atlanta Chapter, expressed full support for Governor Otti’s second term bid on behalf of Abians in the USA.

Chief Christie Obioma and High Chief Nelson, leaders of the Old Bende Progressive Union, Atlanta Chapter, praised Governor Otti’s achievements, which were further validated by Eze Mbah’s report. They pledged their solid support for the Governor’s re-election and committed to mobilizing their community to back his administration, recognizing the positive impact of his projects on both urban and rural Abians.
