The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Danladi Isa, has called on officers of the State Intelligence Department (SID) to recommit to their core duty of intelligence gathering, warning against any conduct that could compromise the integrity of the police force.
Speaking during a strategic meeting with SID personnel at the Command Headquarters in Umuahia, CP Isa stressed the pivotal role of intelligence in tackling rising security threats and maintaining public safety in the state.
He urged officers to uphold the highest standards of diligence, professionalism, and ethical conduct, warning that deviations or unethical behavior would not be condoned.
“You must remain focused and committed to your duty as intelligence officers. Avoid any conduct that could bring disrepute to the Command. Intelligence is the backbone of policing, and we cannot afford to compromise it,” CP Isa cautioned.
The Police Commissioner further directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of SID, ACP Otubo Robinson, and his deputy to ensure effective supervision and accountability among all SID personnel.
The directive comes amid growing security challenges nationwide, with the Abia Police Command emphasizing intelligence-driven policing as key to proactive crime prevention and public confidence.
The meeting forms part of a broader strategy to boost operational effectiveness, reinforce discipline, and enhance the intelligence-gathering capabilities of the Abia State Police Command.
