The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for the University of Jos to establish 18 new full-time undergraduate academic programmes, set to commence in the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a statement on Tuesday, the institution’s Senior Deputy Registrar, Abdullahi Abdullahi, described the development as a significant expansion of UniJos’ academic portfolio, designed to broaden educational opportunities and address emerging societal and industry needs.
He explained that the approval followed a comprehensive Resource Verification exercise by the NUC, which confirmed that the university possesses the requisite human and material resources to deliver quality education in the new fields.
The newly approved programmes span diverse disciplines, including:

- Arts and Education: B.A. Philosophy, B.A. Ed. Music Education, B.A. Ed. Fine Arts and Applied Arts Education, B.Ed. Primary Education, B.Sc. Ed. Agricultural Science Education, B.Sc. Ed. Business Education.
