In a bid to enhance security operations in Kebbi State, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has dispatched two additional Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) to the state. This development was announced in a statement released on Monday by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Nasir Idris.
The APCs were officially handed over to the state by the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Bello Muhammad Sani, during a brief ceremony at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi. Governor Idris expressed optimism that the new vehicles would significantly aid in curbing insecurity, especially in rural and farming communities frequently targeted by bandits.
Governor Idris commended the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between security agencies and the state government in ensuring the safety of residents. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security operations across Kebbi.
Following the presentation, Commissioner Sani led Governor Idris on an inspection tour of the newly delivered APCs. The inspection aimed to assess the readiness and capabilities of the vehicles ahead of their deployment to high-risk areas within the state.
