Presidency Applauds Senator Wadada for Criticizing 2027 Opposition Coalition

The Presidency has commended Senator Aliyu Wadada for openly challenging the motives behind the emerging coalition of opposition leaders aiming to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. Senator Wadada, who recently defected from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), represents the Nasarawa West Senatorial District.

In a viral video shared after a closed-door meeting with President Tinubu at the State House, Wadada dismissed the political credibility of opposition figures who have aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He declared that there is “no vacancy in Aso Rock until 2031” and questioned what the coalition members could offer that surpasses Tinubu’s administration.

“Take a close look at each of them—what can they do better than what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing?” Wadada asked. “Between now and 2031, anyone can speak freely, but the presidency is already occupied. Who among them has the courage to say they would bring back fuel subsidy if given the chance to lead?”

Presidential media aide, Bayo Onanuga, also shared the video on his X handle, praising the senator’s remarks. “In this video, Senator Wadada was ruthless in dismantling the fumbling coalition of politically displaced individuals desperate to block President Tinubu’s second term,” Onanuga wrote.
