Victor Osimhen was unable to get on the scoresheet as he made his second debut for Galatasaray in their 3-0 win over newly-promoted Fatih Karagümrük on Friday night.
The Super Eagles striker, who missed the opening-day victory against Gaziantep, began the match on the bench. Baris Alper Yılmaz, fresh from a brace in the first game, retained his starting spot and gave Galatasaray the lead in the 10th minute.
Fatih Karagümrük’s hopes were further dented when Marius Doh received a straight red card following a VAR review.
Osimhen was introduced in the 61st minute but failed to make a significant impact. Thirteen minutes later, the hosts doubled their advantage through an own goal from defender Fatih Kurucuk.
Mauro Icardi, who came on in the 81st minute, sealed the victory with Galatasaray’s third goal in the 87th minute.
