Aba Power, the electricity distribution company serving Abia State, has announced a week-long disruption in power supply across its franchise areas.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company said the outage will last from August 21 to August 28, 2025, due to planned maintenance on gas supply infrastructure by its primary power provider, Geometric Power Aba Limited (GPAL).

“Dear Valued Customer, we have just been informed by our primary power provider, Geometric Power Aba Limited, of critical infrastructure maintenance by their gas supplier, which will impact GPAL’s ability to generate and supply power from August 21 to 28,” the notice read.

Aba Power added that during the period, it will depend mainly on supply from the national grid, which may be limited.

The company, however, assured residents that it would strive to manage available supply efficiently and urged customers to plan accordingly.

“We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause and assure you of our commitment to serve you as best as possible,” the statement concluded.
