Bail Application Denied for Suspect in DJ Sumbody Murder Case

The Alexandra Magistrates Court has denied Katiso Molefe’s bail application, citing concerns over the evidence presented by the State. During the proceedings, the Magistrate highlighted WhatsApp messages that suggest the alleged hitmen were awaiting payment on the day DJ Sumbody, whose real name was Oupa Sefoka, was killed.

The court expressed apprehension that Molefe might interfere with ongoing investigations, given his potential influence.

Molefe was arrested at his residence in Sandton last month and faces charges relating to the murders of both DJ Sumbody and Hector Buthelezi, known as DJ Vintos, which occurred in 2022.
