A young woman, identified as Bidemi Omole, has died shortly after arriving at her boyfriend’s residence in the Oke Esa area of Esa Oke, Osun State.

According to eyewitnesses, the tragic incident occurred on Friday night. Residents said the deceased had only just gotten to her boyfriend Yinka’s house when she suddenly took ill.

“We heard cries for help and rushed to Yinka’s house,” a resident recounted. “By the time I got there, security personnel were already on the ground, but the crowd was overwhelming. Unfortunately, it was already too late.”

Another source revealed that Omole was believed to be heading for a Friday night vigil before the incident. “She usually attends vigil on Fridays. The police have since arrested her boyfriend, and he is in their custody,” the source added.

Confirming the development, Osun Police Command spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, said the matter was reported on Saturday. He disclosed that Omole began vomiting shortly after she arrived at Yinka’s home and was rushed to a hospital, but she died on the way.

“The suspect, who is the boyfriend of the deceased, is already with the police. An autopsy will be carried out to determine the actual cause of death,” Ojelabi stated, assuring that a thorough investigation is ongoing.
