The Abia State Government has reiterated its commitment to promoting peace, unity, and development across all communities in the state.

Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Kenneth Kalu, made this known during a peace dialogue between Ndi Ebe Abam and Ndi Ojiaku Abam communities in Arochukwu Local Government Area, which have been locked in a protracted boundary dispute.

Prof. Kalu urged both sides to prioritize peaceful dialogue and constructive engagement in resolving their differences. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence is the foundation for sustainable progress, warning against actions that could escalate tensions and lead to violence.

The SSG also appealed to traditional rulers and community leaders to caution their people against taking the law into their own hands, assuring that the government is committed to ensuring a fair and lasting resolution to the dispute.

In their separate remarks, the Eze of Ndi Ebe Abam, Ezeogo Okeko Arunsi, the Eze Ogo of Ndi Ojiaku, Eze Ogo Ota Ola, and the President General of the community, Ikwan Uka, expressed gratitude to the government for the intervention. They pledged their commitment to peaceful dialogue and support for efforts aimed at resolving the conflict amicably.
