FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup: Olowookere Calls 30 Flamingos to Abuja Camp

Head Coach Bankole Olowookere has invited 30 players to the camp of Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, the Flamingos, as preparations intensify for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

The squad list comprises four goalkeepers, nine defenders, nine midfielders, and eight forwards. The players are expected to report to camp in Abuja on Sunday, September 7.

Nigeria, bronze medalists at the 2022 edition in India, secured their ticket to Morocco after defeating South Africa and Algeria in the qualifiers. This year’s tournament, the first-ever 24-team FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, will take place from October 17 to November 8 across four venues in Rabat and Salé.

Morocco will also host the next four editions of the competition, making this year’s event the first of five consecutive tournaments to be staged in the North African nation.

North Korea, winners of the 2024 edition, will defend their record third title. For Nigeria, the target remains surpassing their historic third-place finish in 2022.
