Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has reiterated his administration’s resolve to prioritize security as the foundation of development, assuring that his government will not compromise on matters of public safety.
Speaking at the Aba Stakeholders Security Trust Fund Raising Luncheon held at the Aba Sports Club, Governor Otti thanked Abians, friends of the state, and the Aba business community for their continued support, promising that every contribution made towards the new Abia project will be transparently accounted for.
He urged residents to disregard baseless propaganda about mismanagement of funds, stressing that Abia’s resources are safe and well-managed under his leadership.
Governor Otti also revealed that work on the Enyimba Hotel project would commence immediately, following the signing of an agreement with Radisson Blu. He further announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will visit Aba on October 3 to commission the newly reconstructed Port Harcourt Road along with six other roads.
In addition, the Governor encouraged Abia residents to participate in the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to ensure their eligibility for the 2027 general elections.
Earlier, Chairman of the event, Chief Leo Okoye, praised Governor Otti’s strides in road infrastructure, security, and the revamping of water schemes, urging continued support for his administration.
Other business leaders and stakeholders, including Ide John Udeagbala, Mazi Jude Nwosu, and a representative of Owelle Greg Okafor, commended the Governor’s proactive measures to restore Aba’s glory. They noted that the luncheon was organized by the Aba business community to fully align with the state’s renewed push for security, as they were not adequately represented during the first trust fund meeting held in Umuahia in July.
