Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace, has unveiled a 2025/2026 Graduate Trainee Programme that will provide employment opportunities for 1,000 fresh graduates.

The initiative follows the Federal Government’s suspension of the 4 per cent Free on Board (FOB) levy on imported goods, which had drawn widespread criticism from manufacturers, importers, and customs agents, who warned it could fuel inflation and disrupt trade.

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, explained that the suspension was a direct response to concerns that the levy would harm competitiveness, weaken the investment climate, and destabilize economic activities.

Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, praised President Bola Tinubu and Edun for their swift action, describing the suspension as a relief for the aviation sector. He said the airline is reciprocating the government’s gesture by opening 1,000 graduate positions.

“This suspension is a lifeline for the aviation industry. It removes a heavy burden that could have crippled airlines and triggered massive job losses. In return, we are creating opportunities for 1,000 young Nigerians,” Onyema stated.

He added that the Graduate Trainee Programme is designed to build a pipeline of skilled, future-ready professionals for the aviation sector by providing mentorship, practical experience, and critical industry knowledge.

Applicants must be 30 years or younger, hold at least a Second Class Lower (2:2) degree from a recognized university, and possess an NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate. Passion, adaptability, and willingness to learn are also key requirements.

Applications can be submitted through Air Peace Graduate Trainee Programme or via the QR code on the official flyer. The deadline for submission is September 30, 2025.
