Pretoria will come alive today as the 14th Gauteng LGBTQI Pride event takes centre stage in Centurion.
The annual Pride march, themed “Uniting the Rainbow,” will begin at Supersport Park Cricket Stadium and is expected to draw hundreds from the LGBTQI+ community and their allies in a vibrant show of visibility, unity, and celebration.
Tshwane Metro Police spokesperson, Puleng Motholo, announced that traffic diversions will be in place during the march, with several roads closed to motorists. Streets affected include West Avenue, Jean Avenue, and Von Weilligh Avenue.
Organisers say the event not only celebrates diversity but also amplifies calls for equality and inclusion across South Africa.
