Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi and winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, has revealed plans to launch a Non-Governmental Organisation aimed at supporting the girl child.
The announcement came shortly after she received an additional N2 million cheque from BetKing in Lagos, awarded for a competition she won while in the BBNaija house. Imisi described the gesture as both inspiring and overwhelming.
Reflecting on her journey, she shared the challenges of her childhood, saying her experiences fueled her desire to help young girls facing similar struggles.
“I am overwhelmed, happy, and grateful. Seeing all these working in my favour feels amazing. As a girl who went through a very dramatic childhood, I want to give back by supporting the girl child. I don’t have all the details yet, but I hope to establish a foundation to make that possible,” she said.
Imisi, who had been pursuing an acting career before joining the reality show, credited BBNaija with significantly boosting her public profile. “I have been an actress for a while, but Big Brother really gave me the exposure, and I am very grateful,” she added.
At the cheque presentation, BetKing’s Head of Marketing, Nengi Akinola, explained that the prize was part of the company’s initiative to reward BBNaija housemates while promoting BetKing’s exclusive games to a broader audience.
Akinola highlighted some of the company’s games, including Danfo Lagos, JJ Ball X in collaboration with Jay Jay Okocha, and Film House, a game featuring a female character racing against time. She noted that BBNaija provided a unique platform to reach entertainment audiences and that the brand is currently evaluating the collaboration’s impact for future planning.
“The possibilities are endless. We are analysing the value we’ve gained, and when planning for next year, we will determine what comes next,” she said.
