President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday evening received two senators who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmakers, Senator Kaila Samaila Dahuwa (Bauchi North) and Senator Agom Jarigbe (Cross River North), were led to the Presidential Villa by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.

Their defection was earlier announced on the floor of the Senate, citing alignment with the government’s development agenda.

Senate President Akpabio described their decision as one made in the national interest, adding that the lawmakers were committed to supporting President Tinubu’s reform efforts for the country’s progress.
