Adeleke Appoints Davido as Chairman, Osun Sports Trust Fund

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has appointed Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, as the Chairman of the Osun State Sports Trust Fund.

The initiative, according to the state government, is part of a comprehensive effort to revitalize the sports sector in Osun and ensure the timely completion of the ongoing renovation of the Osogbo Township Stadium, which is being upgraded to meet Olympic standards.

Confirming the appointment, the Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Sports, Mr. Kola Adewusi, said Davido enthusiastically accepted the role, expressing confidence that his global influence would attract the necessary funding and partnerships to drive sports development in the state.

Adewusi also revealed that plans are at an advanced stage to establish the Osun State Sports Commission, which will serve as the central body for sports administration, development, and policy coordination.

He assured that the Adeleke administration remains committed to building a sustainable sports ecosystem capable of nurturing young talents and boosting the state’s economy through sports.
