Two residents of Manba Village in Patigi Local Government Area, Kwara State, have been abducted after armed attackers invaded the community via the Rogun axis late Friday night.

A community source reported that the gunmen arrived around 11 p.m., firing sporadically as villagers fled for safety. “The gunmen came through Rogun and headed straight into Manba. They operated freely and took two people away,” the source said, noting that fear has spread to surrounding villages.

The identities of the abducted individuals have not yet been confirmed, and security agencies are yet to release an official statement on the incident.

Earlier reports indicated rising insecurity in Patigi LGA, with residents of Lile community thrown into panic on Tuesday evening after scores of armed men were spotted advancing toward the area on dozens of motorcycles.

Local sources said the suspected bandits moved in a convoy of over 40 motorcycles, with two to three persons per bike, passing through neighboring villages without confrontation. Their current location remains unknown, heightening concerns about further attacks in the region.
