The Igbo World Union has extended warm Christmas felicitations and New Year goodwill messages to Ndigbo across the world, urging them to embrace unity, peace, and renewed commitment to the collective progress of the Igbo nation.

In a goodwill message released to mark the 2025 Christmas celebration and the forthcoming New Year, the President General of the Union, Mishak Nnanta, described the season as a sacred period of reflection, gratitude, and recommitment to shared values that bind the Igbo people together wherever they reside.

His Imperial Majesty, Ambassador Mishak Nnanta, KJW, KSM, JP, Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum noted that Christmas represents the triumph of hope over despair and love over division, calling on Ndigbo at home and in the diaspora to draw strength from their rich cultural heritage, resilience, and communal spirit in the face of global and local challenges.

According to him, the Yuletide offers a unique opportunity for families and communities to renew bonds, forgive past grievances, and collectively chart a path toward a more prosperous and dignified future for the Igbo race. He emphasized that unity remains the strongest pillar upon which sustainable development, cultural preservation, and political relevance can be built.

The Igbo leader further encouraged youths to remain focused, innovative, and patriotic, while urging elders and leaders at all levels to continue offering guidance anchored on integrity, justice, and service to humanity. He stressed that the progress of Alaigbo depends largely on collective responsibility, discipline, and mutual respect.

Ambassador Nnanta also prayed for peace, security, and economic stability across Nigeria and beyond, expressing optimism that the New Year would usher in fresh opportunities, improved welfare, and greater harmony among all peoples.

On behalf of the global Igbo family, the President General wished Ndigbo a joyful Christmas celebration and a prosperous, peaceful, and fulfilling New Year, reaffirming the commitment of the Igbo World Union to advancing unity, cultural pride, and global cooperation among Igbo communities worldwide.
