Abia 2027 governorship aspirant and grassroots mobiliser, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, has sent a powerful New Year message to Abians across the 17 local government areas, calling on the people to rise with courage, unity, and determination as the new year opens a fresh chapter for the state.
In his message, Chief Uzor Kalu saluted the resilience of ordinary Abians, describing traders, farmers, artisans, youths, women, and civil servants as the true backbone of the state who have endured years of hardship without losing hope. He said the new year must mark a turning point where the voice of the grassroots is no longer ignored but respected and prioritised.
According to him, Abia is blessed with hardworking people and abundant human resources, yet many communities continue to suffer neglect, unemployment, and poor infrastructure. He stressed that the time has come for leadership that understands the pain of the people, walks with them on dusty roads, listens to them in village squares, and delivers practical solutions that touch everyday life.
Chief Uzor Kalu described the new year as a season of awakening for Abia people, urging them not to surrender their future to despair or recycled promises. He called on youths to remain focused and courageous, assuring them that their energy and ideas are needed to rebuild the state from the grassroots up.
He further emphasised that true governance is about service, compassion, and accountability, not personal enrichment or distant leadership. He pledged to continue engaging communities directly, consulting widely, and standing firmly with the masses in their quest for inclusive development, economic empowerment, and restored dignity.
The Abia 2027 aspirant appealed to traditional rulers, community leaders, market unions, youth groups, and women associations to embrace unity and collective action, noting that no community should be left behind in the journey toward a stronger and fairer Abia State.
Chief Uzor Kalu concluded by wishing Abians a prosperous and peaceful New Year, declaring that the days ahead must bring renewed hope, bold leadership, and people centered governance. He charged Abians to remain vigilant, prayerful, and united, insisting that with the will of the people and the grace of God, Abia will rise and reclaim its pride.
