Abia Is No One’s Property Again “Old Political Order has ended” – David Ogba Onuoha (Bourdex)

Abia State, David Ogba Onuoha declared, has moved beyond the era of personal ownership by a few political figures. According to him, the state now belongs fully to its people who have discovered what responsible leadership looks like and are no longer willing to accept anything less. He said the collective awakening of Abians has made it impossible for anyone to hijack their future again.

He noted that the old tradition where a handful of men met in secret to decide the fate of millions has collapsed. That political culture, he stressed, was rejected by the people in 2023 and will be permanently buried in 2027. Onuoha maintained that no amount of private plotting can override the will of a determined electorate.

Speaking on the emergence of Governor Alex Otti, Onuoha insisted that his rise to power was not accidental. He said Otti was a product of years of frustration, hunger for fairness, and a deep desire for competence. Since assuming office, he added, the governor has shown that he came with a mission, not as a beneficiary of political godfatherism.

He pointed to tangible changes across the state as proof that governance is no longer a slogan. Salaries are being paid, pension backlogs addressed, roads revived, public institutions stabilized, and hope restored among the people. These, he said, are not claims but daily experiences of ordinary citizens.

Onuoha warned those relying on old influence that time has passed them by. He said secret meetings cannot defeat visible progress, and sentimental memories cannot outweigh real achievements. According to him, the people now vote with clarity, not confusion.

He concluded by affirming that Abia, especially Abia North, Isuikwuato, and Umunneochi, already understand what is at stake. He declared that the Labour Party administration is focused on service, not survival, and will not return the state to those who mismanaged it. Abia has chosen development, he said, and that choice is irreversible.
