The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started distributing Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in preparation for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections scheduled for February 21, 2026.

The exercise covers newly registered voters, those who transferred registration, and individuals who updated their voter details during the Continuous Voter Registration period.

Previously uncollected PVCs are also being made available at designated centres across the territory to ensure more eligible voters can obtain them ahead of the polls.

This move is part of INEC’s wider preparations, which include campaign monitoring, finalising the list of candidates, and setting up accreditation systems for election day.
