The Member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, paid a condolence visit to the family of Elder Mathew Simon over the tragic death of their son, Mr. Uche Simon.
Reports indicate that the late Uche Simon lost his life following an attack by yet-to-be-identified assailants around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Johnson strongly condemned the horrific act that led to Uche’s death, describing it as senseless and deeply troubling.
“Uche’s life was cut short in a senseless act of violence, leaving behind a grieving family and community,” he said. “We must stand together to condemn this heinous crime and demand justice for Uche.”
The lawmaker offered words of comfort to the bereaved parents, siblings, and relatives, praying for strength and divine consolation for the family during this difficult time.
Hon. Johnson also commended the ongoing efforts of the Divisional Police Officer in Isuikwuato and other security personnel working to apprehend those responsible. He reassured residents of Isuikwuato of his commitment to supporting security agencies in ensuring justice is served in accordance with the rule of law.
“I assure the people of Isuikwuato that I will continue to support all lawful efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice,” he stated.
He urged members of the Nkwonta community to remain calm and cooperate fully with security operatives, while emphasizing the need for unity in confronting violence across Isuikwuato LGA.
The statement concluded with prayers for strength and resilience for the family, alongside a call for solidarity among the people of Isuikwuato in the face of security challenges.
Until his untimely death, Uche Simon was a young and promising businessman and electrical technician from Nkwonta in Oguduasaa Community, Isuikwuato LGA of Abia State.
