Flourish Africa, the empowerment platform founded by Apostle Folorunsho Alakija, has provided N300 million in grants to 100 women entrepreneurs across Nigeria. The recipients were selected through a competitive national programme designed to identify innovative and scalable businesses.
The initiative is part of the fourth cycle of the Flourish Africa Grants Programme, which started with intensive business training for over 500 women. After submitting proposals, 200 candidates advanced to a pitching stage, from which the final 100 beneficiaries were chosen based on merit and business potential.
Each awardee will receive N3 million to grow their ventures, covering sectors such as agribusiness, manufacturing, food processing, fashion, and beauty services. The programme pairs funding with business mentorship and exposure to professional standards to ensure sustainable development and effective enterprise management.
Alakija emphasised that while Nigeria has a high rate of female entrepreneurship, access to finance and growth opportunities remains limited for many women. She said initiatives like this empower women to expand their businesses, create employment, and contribute meaningfully to the national economy.
