Abia 2027 Election Governorship Aspirant Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu has stated that the true dignity of the Abia people lies in their ability to stand on the strength of their own productivity, stressing that empowerment must replace dependency as the central focus of development policy. He noted that when citizens are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities to generate income, they gain not only financial stability but confidence, purpose, and social pride.

According to him, poverty cannot be permanently addressed through short term welfare programs alone. While such measures may offer temporary relief, he explained that lasting change comes from structured systems that enable individuals and families to build sustainable sources of income. He described wealth creation as a pathway that restores hope and encourages innovation at the grassroots level.

Chief Kalu reiterated that a deliberate shift from welfare to wealth creation would unlock the potential of thousands of Abians, particularly youths, women, artisans, and small scale entrepreneurs. He said the focus should be on skills development, access to micro business support, and policies that encourage local production and enterprise growth.

He maintained that when people earn through their own efforts, communities become more stable, crime reduces, and economic growth becomes inclusive. He added that empowering citizens to create value is not only an economic strategy but a moral responsibility of leadership.

Concluding, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu stressed that a structured transition toward wealth creation remains the most sustainable route to lifting families out of poverty and ensuring long term prosperity across Abia State.
