Joe Igbokwe, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced that the South‑East region is now free from widespread criminal activities following the cancellation of the Monday sit‑at-home order by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). He hailed the development as a turning point for security and economic revival in the region.
According to Igbokwe, the end of the enforced shutdown will allow residents to go about their businesses, attend school, and engage in daily activities without fear of harassment or disruption. He described the move as a significant step toward restoring law and order in Igboland.
Community leaders and stakeholders have welcomed the announcement, noting that the long-standing shutdown had hindered trade, education, and transport, affecting livelihoods across the South‑East. They believe that lifting the restrictions will stimulate economic activity and encourage investors to return to the region.
Igbokwe stressed that the cancellation of the sit‑at-home order is not only a victory against criminal elements but also a signal that peace and development are taking root. He urged citizens to embrace the change responsibly and work together to sustain the newfound stability in the South‑East.
