Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah, has congratulated former Chief of Army Staff, General Azubuike Onyeabo Ihejirika (rtd), on the occasion of his 70th birthday, paying glowing tribute to his immense contributions to nation building and the development of Abia State.
In a goodwill message to mark the milestone, Dr. Ogah described the retired Army Chief, who served under former President Goodluck Jonathan, as a patriotic leader whose legacy of service, discipline, and commitment to national unity continues to inspire Nigerians across generations.
According to Ogah, General Ihejirika’s tenure as Chief of Army Staff from 2010 to 2014 came at a critical period in Nigeria’s history, during which he demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic foresight in strengthening the Nigerian Army and safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity.
He further noted that beyond his distinguished military career, the elder statesman has remained a pillar of development and a strong ambassador of Abia State, consistently contributing to peace, leadership mentorship, and socio-economic progress in the state and the Southeast region.
Dr. Ogah prayed that God grants General Ihejirika continued good health, wisdom, and strength, and blesses him with many more years of impactful service to Abia State and the Nigerian nation.
