Legal Graduates Demand Swift Entry Into Law School for NOUN and ABSU Alumni

A national body representing law graduates has called on authorities to immediately allow graduates from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and Abia State University (ABSU) to gain admission into the Nigerian Law School.

The association criticized ongoing delays that have left qualified law graduates unable to proceed to the professional stage of their legal training, arguing that the situation unfairly hinders their career progression.

The call comes amid long-standing concerns about exclusionary practices affecting NOUN graduates, some of whom were previously denied entry despite meeting academic requirements, as well as a reported backlog of ABSU law students awaiting admission.

Representatives emphasized that ensuring prompt and equal access to the Nigerian Law School for all eligible law graduates is essential to uphold fairness in legal education and strengthen the nation’s justice system.
