The Jigawa State Government has taken a firm stance against misconduct in its Ramadan feeding initiative by terminating the contracts of 22 vendors. The move comes after reports emerged that some contractors were failing to deliver adequate meals to residents during the holy month.

State authorities conducted surprise inspections across various distribution points and discovered lapses in both food quality and quantity. These findings highlighted a growing concern over mismanagement and prompted immediate action.

The affected vendors were accused of neglecting contractual obligations, including delivering incomplete or poor-quality meals to communities across several local government areas. The government stressed that such breaches would not be tolerated in programmes meant to support vulnerable citizens.

Officials confirmed that new contractors are being sourced to ensure the Ramadan feeding continues smoothly. The state emphasized its dedication to transparency and efficiency, assuring residents that relief programmes would remain uninterrupted.
