Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has directed the immediate payment of pension arrears to former employees of the Abia State Agricultural Development Programme (ADP) who retired between 2000 and 2010. The move aims to honor the years of service rendered by these retirees and provide them with overdue financial support.

Governor Otti emphasized that the administration is committed to addressing historical obligations and ensuring that pensioners receive their entitlements promptly. Officials in the State Pension Office have been tasked with fast-tracking the verification and disbursement process.

Many of the beneficiaries expressed relief and gratitude, noting that the payments will significantly improve their standard of living. The governor also assured that similar reviews will be conducted for other categories of retirees in the state to guarantee fairness and transparency in pension administration.
