Getafe manager José Bordalás has voiced strong concerns over the expected departure of Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche, describing it as a significant blow to the team. Uche is reportedly finalizing a €20 million transfer to English Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he is set to sign a five-year deal.

The Super Eagles star featured in Getafe’s 2-1 victory over Sevilla on Monday night in a LaLiga Week 2 clash at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium. Speaking after the match, Bordalás said losing Uche would severely weaken the squad and expressed his opposition to the move.

“Let’s hope he doesn’t leave. I’m against him leaving; he’s a very important player, and this becomes more difficult every day,” he said. “If Uche leaves, we have a very serious problem. We can’t be at the mercy of selling a player as important as Uche.”

Club President Ángel Torres previously confirmed that Uche’s impending exit is driven by the club’s need to comply with financial regulations.
