Super Eagles midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, has acknowledged that Nigeria is currently facing a tough challenge in its bid to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The national team is set to play two decisive fixtures against Rwanda on Saturday and South Africa on Tuesday, matches that could define their qualification chances.

In an interview with Ademola Victor TV, Dele-Bashiru emphasized that the entire team—players, coaches, and supporters—share the same goal for the upcoming qualifiers: securing victories. He noted that the results of these games will be pivotal in keeping Nigeria’s World Cup dream alive.

“We are in a difficult situation now, six points off the top, but everyone knows the task ahead,” the midfielder said. “What matters most is our determination to turn things around, and that’s exactly what we’re working towards.”

Dele-Bashiru added that more players are expected to join the camp shortly, which will allow the squad to fully focus on preparations. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to deliver, insisting that the Super Eagles have what it takes to get the job done.
