Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has advised his daughter, Temi, to fully embrace her new role as wife to Afrobeats star Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, describing him as a good man from a respectable family.
Otedola gave the counsel during the couple’s white wedding ceremony held on Saturday at the iconic Hallgrímskirkja Church in Reykjavík, Iceland.
In a video from the event that went viral, the oil magnate was seen addressing guests and urging Temi to prioritise her marriage. “You found a great guy; he is from a very decent family. One thing I will advise Temi is, you have to succumb to your husband. He’s your boss now. There’s no more daddy. Don’t call me,” he said, drawing laughter and applause.
The lavish ceremony was graced by close family members and friends, including Temi’s mother, Nana Otedola, her sister, Florence “DJ Cuppy” Otedola, and business mogul Aliko Dangote.
Otedola also recounted his first encounter with Mr Eazi in 2017, revealing that he had predicted then that the singer would one day marry his daughter. He further shared some of the challenges encountered in the wedding preparations, noting that a storm in Dubai had destroyed their wedding tent just a week before the Iceland ceremony.
Paying tribute to his wife, Nana, for her role in raising their children while he focused on business, Otedola urged Temi to show the same commitment to her marriage. He encouraged the couple to resolve disputes privately and protect their home from external interference.
The Iceland celebration marks the final phase of the couple’s wedding journey, which began with a civil ceremony in Monaco on May 9, followed by a traditional Yoruba ceremony in Dubai in July.
Temi and Mr Eazi, who first met at an event organised by DJ Cuppy in 2018, got engaged in April 2022 before sealing their union this year.
