eFlying Eagles head coach, Aliyu Zubairu, has declared that his team is aiming for the title at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The Nigerian side, seven-time African champions, previously finished as runners-up at the 1989 and 2005 editions of the tournament.

At the last World Cup in Argentina, the Flying Eagles exited at the quarter-final stage after losing to Korea. Zubairu, however, expressed confidence that the team can go all the way this time.

“We want to go beyond our past achievements, but we will take it step by step,” he said. “The first target is to progress from the group stage, then we focus on the next rounds.”

Nigeria is placed in Group F alongside Norway, Colombia, and Saudi Arabia, with their opening match set against Norway on Monday, September 29.
