The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has announced plans to formalise a partnership agreement with the United Arab Emirates Volleyball Federation on October 31, as part of efforts to further advance the sport in the country.
NVBF President, Musa Nimrod, revealed this on Saturday during a courtesy visit by the President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Isaiah Benjamin, to his office in Kaduna.
According to Nimrod, the collaboration with the UAE marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s volleyball development journey and will foster new opportunities for growth and international cooperation.
“Nigeria is making remarkable progress in developing volleyball, and several countries have shown interest in supporting us,” he said. “We are delighted that the UAE is among them, and I will be travelling there on October 31 to sign the partnership agreement.”
Nimrod, who was recently re-elected unopposed for a third term as NVBF president, expressed gratitude to stakeholders contributing to the sport’s progress. He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting volleyball at the grassroots level nationwide, noting that with consistent efforts and strong partnerships, the sport could soon rank among Nigeria’s leading athletic disciplines.
