Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Saturday organized a special memorial service in honour of his late wife and former First Lady, Mrs. Stella Obasanjo, marking 20 years since her passing.

The solemn event, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, brought together family members, close associates, political leaders, and well-wishers who gathered to pay tribute to the late First Lady’s legacy of compassion, service, and commitment to national development.

Mrs. Stella Obasanjo, who served as Nigeria’s First Lady from 1999 until her death in 2005, was widely known for her advocacy for women’s rights, health initiatives, and youth empowerment programs.

During the service, Chief Obasanjo described his late wife as a “pillar of strength and inspiration,” noting that her contributions to humanity continue to speak volumes two decades after her demise.

Prayers were offered for the repose of her soul, as attendees reflected on her impactful life and enduring memory in the hearts of Nigerians.
