The seventh edition of the Lagos Kids Mini-Marathon is set for Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Orange Island, Lekki, the organisers have confirmed.

This year’s event carries the theme “Active Kids Rock” with the sub-theme “Rock the Path, Your Way!”, celebrating the unique talents of all children, including those with special needs.

Organised by the St. Saviour’s School Ikoyi Endowment Fund since 2017, the marathon aims to promote physical activity, inclusivity, and community engagement among children across Lagos. About 1,000 participants from 150 schools are expected this year, promising an even bigger and more vibrant gathering following past successes.

The 2025 edition will feature multiple races and walks of 1km, 1.5km, 3km, and 5km, with age categories spanning 4–5 years, 6–8 years, 9–12 years, and 13–15 years, while also welcoming adults, parents, and guardians.

Mrs. Enitan Rewane, Chairperson of the 2025 Mini-Marathon Committee, highlighted that the event promotes fitness and contributes to social causes. “A portion of the funds raised will go to a selected charity. We are grateful for the support of our partners, sponsors, and the Lagos State Government,” she said.

Dr. Yemi Osindero, Team Lead of the Committee, emphasized the importance of nurturing healthy habits early in life, stating, “Health is wealth, and being active is key to overall well-being. We want this mindset instilled in our children.”

St. Saviour’s School Head Teacher, Craig Heaton, added that the marathon goes beyond physical fitness, fostering character, resilience, discipline, and teamwork among participants. “We believe in balancing academics, sports, and creative arts to maximize our students’ success,” Heaton said.

House captains and event partners at the press conference echoed these sentiments, describing the mini-marathon as a platform that builds confidence, encourages resilience, and teaches the value of a healthy, active lifestyle among young participants.
