The Federal Government has formally delivered houses and land allocations to members of the Super Eagles in recognition of their silver-medal finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that players and officials of the national team have received official certificates of ownership for the houses and plots of land earlier promised by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after the tournament.

According to the NFF, the fulfillment of the pledge underscores the government’s commitment to rewarding excellence and motivating national athletes who bring pride to the country on the international stage.

The gesture follows the Super Eagles’ impressive run at AFCON 2023, where they reached the final after a series of strong performances against top African teams.
Sports stakeholders have welcomed the development, describing it as a positive step toward boosting morale in Nigerian sports and encouraging future generations of athletes.

The Super Eagles finished second at the tournament after a closely contested final, earning widespread praise from fans and officials for their resilience and teamwork.
