Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development and respected statesman, Dr Uche Ogah, has extended warm Christmas greetings to the people of Abia State and Nigerians at large, urging citizens to embrace peace, unity, and renewed hope as the nation celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ.
In a Christmas message released on Wednesday, Dr Ogah described the season as a sacred moment for reflection, gratitude, and recommitment to the enduring values that bind the nation together. He said Christmas offers Nigerians an opportunity to look beyond present challenges and draw strength from faith, compassion, and shared responsibility for the common good.
Dr Ogah noted that despite economic pressures and social uncertainties, the resilience of Nigerians remains a powerful force. He commended the courage of families, workers, entrepreneurs, and youths who continue to contribute meaningfully to national development, often under difficult circumstances. According to him, the true spirit of Christmas lies in service, sacrifice, and love for one another, virtues he said are urgently needed in public and private life.
The statesman called on leaders at all levels to use the season as a moment of sober reflection, stressing that leadership must be guided by empathy, integrity, and a genuine commitment to the welfare of the people. He urged those entrusted with authority to renew their dedication to justice, accountability, and inclusive governance.
Dr Ogah also encouraged Nigerians to support one another during the festivities, particularly the less privileged, adding that acts of kindness and generosity reflect the true essence of the season. He expressed optimism that with unity of purpose and faith in God, Nigeria would overcome its challenges and advance toward stability and prosperity.
He concluded by wishing Abians and Nigerians a peaceful Christmas celebration and a New Year filled with good health, progress, and renewed national hope.
