Member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson, has distributed Christmas relief packages to more than 200 widows and widowers across the 20 ABSEIC political wards in Isuikwuato Local Government Area.
The initiative, aimed at supporting bereaved families who often face increased emotional and financial pressure during the festive season, included cash gifts, bags of rice, wrappers, and other welfare items to help ease their immediate needs.
During the outreach, Hon. Johnson also pledged to build a house for a vulnerable resident of Uturu who was reported to be homeless, further demonstrating his commitment to humanitarian support in the constituency.
The event was filled with gratitude and emotional moments as beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture. Speakers at the programme underscored the importance of compassion and inclusion, especially noting that widowers are frequently neglected in social support initiatives. Representing the Mayor, Hon. Elizabeth Onyeabor highlighted how simple acts of kindness can restore dignity and hope.
Hon. Johnson’s wife, Lolo Mrs. Patricia Ifeoma Johnson, encouraged the beneficiaries and reassured them of sustained support from the family and their representatives.
Beneficiaries offered prayers and goodwill messages to the lawmaker, applauding his leadership and community-oriented initiatives. Hon. Johnson also expressed appreciation to the Abia Arise LGA Coordinator, Sir Emmanuel Okoronkwo, and other stakeholders who supported the programme.
