Lookman in AFCON Group Stage Best XI as Chelle Named Top Coach

Nigeria’s strong performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations group stage in Morocco earned notable recognition. Winger Ademola Lookman was selected in the Group Stage Best XI, standing out as the only Nigerian player included among the continent’s top performers.

The Atalanta forward impressed throughout the group matches, helping Nigeria top Group C with three wins from three games and contributing goals and assists with his pace and creativity.

In addition to Lookman’s inclusion, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle was named the best coach of the group stage, highlighting Nigeria’s tactical balance and cohesion under his leadership.
