Nigeria’s AFCON Goal-Scoring Streak Snapped by Morocco

Nigeria’s impressive run of scoring in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 came to an end after the Super Eagles were held to a 0-0 draw by hosts Morocco in the semi-final and subsequently lost 4–2 on penalties.

The result ended a streak of 12 consecutive AFCON matches in which Nigeria scored, a run that began at the 2023 edition and included strong performances in the 2025 tournament.

Despite the setback, the Super Eagles still have a third-place playoff to contest, giving them a chance to find the net once again before the competition concludes.
