The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 has achieved a record‑breaking surge in commercial revenue, making it the most financially successful edition of the tournament to date. CAF reported that revenues increased by more than 90% compared with previous tournaments, driven by expanded sponsorship deals, broader media rights sales, and entry into new international markets, particularly in Asia.

According to the organisation’s statement, the number of commercial partners grew significantly over recent editions—from nine in 2021 to 23 sponsors for the 2025 event—reflecting stronger global interest in African football. CAF said this commercial boom was guided by a deliberate, data‑driven strategy that identified untapped fan engagement in regions such as China, Japan, Brazil, and key European markets.

CAF also highlighted that its growing global footprint has attracted partners from multiple continents, underscoring the expanding international appeal of the continent’s flagship football competition.
