Otti Charges New Coach to Restore Enyimba’s Glory

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has given a clear mandate to the newly appointed head coach, Deutsch Detchoua Gustave Emmanuel, to help restore Enyimba International Football Club to its former glory as one of Nigeria’s top football teams.

Enyimba, known as Nigeria’s most successful club with multiple domestic titles and two CAF Champions League trophies, has struggled to maintain its traditional high standards in recent seasons. The Abia government hopes that the new coach’s expertise will turn around the club’s fortunes.

Governor Otti expressed confidence that Coach Deutsch—who holds CAF A, B, and C coaching licences and has experience leading clubs in Nigeria and Cameroon—will bring renewed direction and competitive strength to the Aba-based side.

The appointment is part of broader efforts to revitalize Enyimba, strengthen its performance in the Nigeria Premier Football League, and reaffirm the club’s position as a dominant force in Nigerian and African football.
