Nigeria’s table tennis teams have been handed a challenging start at the 2026 ITTF World Team Championships in London, running from April 28 to May 10.

The men’s team will compete in Group 15 against formidable opponents including Hong Kong, China, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia, while the women’s squad is set to face Australia, Uzbekistan, and Wales in Group 11.

The tournament will use a best-of-five match format, with group winners moving directly to the Round of 32 and second-place teams entering a knockout round to earn advancement.

Despite the tough draws, both Nigerian teams are aiming to make a strong impression, building on their historic qualification and competing in the centenary edition of the championships, which marks 100 years since the first event in London.
