Chelsea Sends Young Midfielder Paez on Loan to River Plate

Chelsea have confirmed that teenage midfielder Kendry Paez will spend the rest of the 2026 season on loan with Argentine giants River Plate.

The 18‑year‑old was brought back to Chelsea after a six‑month spell in France, where he had been gaining experience. With limited playing time abroad, the Blues decided to send him to South America to secure more first-team action.

Paez joined Chelsea after turning 18 in May 2025, having been signed from Independiente del Valle in Ecuador. River Plate, fresh off a strong domestic campaign, is expected to provide him regular minutes as he continues to develop his game.
